"I know what you are saying is good advice. I wish I had it given to me before I started falling for this lady. You're right as usual Ron. I'll try to keep my thoughts off of her and myself out of their relationship problems."

After John woke up the next morning he showered and dressed then went downstairs to meet Jennifer for breakfast. He found himself still upset about seeing Michael with Vittoria in that Jazz club. He was a little nervous to see her after the kiss at the door last night. He had been thinking about it since it happened, but the more he thought about it, the more he wondered what it was all about, she had kissed him not the other way around. That was not a Goodnight kiss you would give a friend on the cheek. There was much more to it than that, much more. Down deep he hoped it hadn't been just the wine talking.

Jennifer walked up to him. "Did you sleep okay after all of our food, fresh air and exercise we got last night?"

"Yes, very well thank you, how about you?"

"I had trouble getting to sleep at first, too much on my mind I guess but when I did I slept like a baby." She then thought about how their goodnight kiss had been the reason she had trouble getting to sleep last night. They went inside and ate breakfast, hardly speaking to each other at first, just an occasional comment about the good food. Finally Jennifer opened up a little. "I think that Michael must have changed his mind about my present. Remember the green and gold earrings I told you about I found in his drawer? I went to sneak another peek at them again this morning and they weren't there. He's normally not one to buy me gifts, maybe he took them back."

John suddenly felt very bad for Jennifer seeing the sad look on her face as she told him about the missing earrings. Then he felt angry with Michael again for repeatedly doing what he was doing to her. He really wanted her to know the truth about all of Michael's infidelities, but didn't want to be the one to break the news to her. Then the warning from his friend Ron came back to him. "Well it was nice he thought of you in the first place, what do they say, it's the thought that counts." John knew otherwise but couldn't tell Jennifer.

After they finished breakfast, Jennifer said she was going to go talk to the Concierge about a special trip she had in mind to take on the weekend and that she would probably see him later. John realized Jennifer was acting a little colder and distant than she had been last night. He figured that it must have something to do with their kiss. She was probably feeling self-conscience about it now, and he didn't blame her. He left to go back to his room to review some of the paperwork he had been given when he inspected their manufacturing plants and wait for Michael to return and call for him. It wasn't easy to keep his mind off of Jennifer and Michael. He forced himself to think only of business.
