“Will you come with me?” Kaori restated.

“Yes, I will,” said Yousho.

The two then went to the hut of Kaori’s parents and found the cat waiting at the entrance to the hut. They then returned to their hut with the cat and Kaori laid down on her side with Ponto in her arms.

Yousho stood over them for a moment. Then he smiled and joined them. Kaori held the cat and Yousho held Kaori.

The next day Kaori awakened with a smile on her face. Yousho had left the hut and she decided that she should speak to him about what had occurred that night. At the time of his return she was playing with Ponto the cat.

“I want to thank you for being so understanding about me desiring to go and get Ponto,” she said.

“You did not resist or complain. You just came with me and allowed me to do something that was important to me,” said Kaori.

“Hopefully you will soon appreciate that amount of maturity that I have gathered as a result of an incident that happened when I was a younger man. I am speaking of the death that occurred and the things I had to grow through to continue living within Hayshua. I am not proud of the event, but it has shaped me and affected me greatly. I believe that I have learned to accept things and let them be,” said Yousho.
