Dantalion of the Goetia: Taste the Obsession of a Demon

"And so she stays, even with everything that happened to her," Rowan moaned.

"Sometimes we never see things clearly when it comes to those we love," Professor Good answered.

I saw Erin, Lucia and Professor Good get into Erin's car and pull away. Rowan made his way back to my front door. He knocked lightly at first, and when I didn't answer, he pounded. I finally shouted from inside "Go away Rowan!"

"C'mon Laurel, just open the door!"

"No!" I yelled.

He kept banging. He always knew eventually I'd get annoyed and open the door. I finally gave in, opening it a crack.

"What?" I barked.

"Don't get mad at me! I'm on your side, remember?" he smiled.

"I really want to be left alone okay?" I said.

"Okay, but at least smoke a cigarette before I leave?" he asked.

I hesitated, finally giving in. "Okay, real quick though."

He handed me a menthol and we smoked on my front step, the silence between us growing uncomfortable. I knew he was just trying to help. Rowan had a sadness in his eyes. He knew that Dantalion would be the only one I could ever truly love. Our kiss meant nothing in comparison to the history Dantalion and I had. Even if he was a demon, I think that's what hurt Rowan the most. He came to my rescue but none of it mattered. I felt so guilty. Words would never make things better. Admitting in front of all my friends that Dantalion was a demon didn't help me feel any better about missing him. When the candles went out at the altar, it was more than just freak co-incidence. It had to be Dantalion. He was still with me somehow.

"Rowan, I know none of what I say to you will make you feel any better, but I just wanted you to know, I never had anyone look out for me like you do. You're always in my heart." I leaned in and gave him a kiss. He kissed me back, hoping to change my mind about Dantalion. I couldn't hurt Rowan, ever. But that's exactly what was happening.

"I thought you would at least put up a fight. You can't just let crazy visions of some demon control your life," Rowan reminded me.

"All my life of mastering visions and practicing magick, for what? My whole damn life is nothing but a lie!"

"No, its not!" Rowan tried calming me down.
