Dantalion of the Goetia: Taste the Obsession of a Demon
Page 46"The aura between them is real. The demon truly has possession of her spirit," Professor Good confided.
"He has not been invoked into her body, but evoked out from where ever he came from. The demon must obey whomever evoked him."
Rowan added his thoughts to what he was hearing. "Why doesn't Laurel just command him to go away or stop?"
"He suffered this demonic curse for ages. His tortures are none a mortal could ever bear. Apparently, this demon has chosen, of his own free will, to leave her, to protect her somehow from harm. It appears that he has fallen from grace. He was in love with another girl who he believes to be Laurel."
"What? What the hell!"
"Shhh" Erin shushed Rowan.
"I see the girl. She looks identical to Laurel. She holds a sadness in her spirit. She had appeared to love this boy. A boy who was not demon, but guardian once. Because of his love for his woman, he was condemned, cursed to become a demon." Professor Good looked up from the mirror. "No wonder she obsesses with him. He is also an Incubus."
"I know what he is!" I burst into the room.
The candles flickered leaving the room pitch black. Rowan lit his lighter as we all raced out of the room searching for the light in the hall bathroom. I flung my body on my bed in my room and everyone just stood there staring at me, mesmerized at what they had just learned.
"Laurel, are you alright?" Professor Good asked me.
"I really don't know anymore" I cried.
Everyone leaned over to give me a hug, even Lucia.
"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to hit you."
"No, I deserved it I guess. Next time I'll use my words more carefully," Lucia smiled.
It started getting late, and my friends decided it was time they should leave. They let themselves out the front door and I could see them all gathering out in the street by Erin's car. I knew they were talking about me.
"What should we do?" Lucia said.
"We can trap Dantalion or exorcise him," Rowan added.
"I don't think Laurel wants to do either one of those things, she loves him. As long as Laurel is bound to the demon, even if it appears he has stayed away from her for whatever reason, she should be the one to decide. She evoked Dantalion. He is bound to her and will protect her. He won't answer to anyone else," Professor Good commented.
