Felipa gasped. "You should tell Alex."

Carmen shrugged. "He'd probably just say I encouraged him."

Felipa looked startled. "He would want to know."

She was probably right about that. In the past he would have been livid. What he would do about any given situation at this point was a mystery. He wasn't likely to travel hundreds of miles to address the issue, though. She might as well get used to the fact that she was on her own.
