Her chestnut horse had big dark eyes just like the black horse His coat was a pretty reddish brown with white legs and mane. She remembered baking by herself for the first time ginger boy cookies. She had put too much ginger in the dough. Her chestnut horse reminded her of her cookies so she called him Ginger boy Before competition started the vet told her Smoky could not compete that year because she was going to have a baby. She competed with Ginger Boy and won second place at all different events at the competition. It wasn't long after that competition Smoky had a colt. Victoria named him Stormy.

The family became a haven for rescue dogs and a couple of barn cats and one little house cat that kept mice out of their house. Some of the dogs found new homes but there was one Doberman pincher that nobody wanted. He was deemed to be a very mean breed. She called him Knight because he was her shinny knight that attacked a man who was robbing The Chicken Hut. The vet had stopped at the chicken place on his way to the office to check out the Doberman pincher. They taught him the game they taught Skippy. Knight caught onto the game just as fast as Skippy did. The grandparents told Victoria this time it was different due to it was Victoria losing her speed because of her getting older.

The same preacher came to their late spring revival and took Thomas and Karen for a ride to pick up ice cream. On the way there he told her the group Luke and Madelyn belong to had moved up to New York to start another group. He said that other Baptist Church and other religious denominations condemned them for being a cult that was against all Christians. they had taken over using rituals including using pig's blood in their ceremonies. He also told them some of the teenagers especially girls had came up missing. The sheriffs office had said they were runaways. All he knew they were missing.

For the next two years until Victoria graduated from junior high school she competed and won all of the district's competitions and was headed for the state competitions after her 8th grade when her mother called and said they were coming to get Victoria. By then Luke and Madelyn had bought a farm in upper New York in the Finger Lake Region. She said she needed Victoria to help around the farm. Victoria was thirteen and a half years old. Grandma Karen remembered what that preacher had said and gave Victoria a cell phone with a three year service plan as an early Christmas gift. She told her to hide it and not to let even her mother know she had it. When she got home to hide it real good. She couldn't tell her why. She also told her to make sure that she was far away from any friends when she text her to keep in touch with how she was doing. Karen. checked into the schools around the Finger Lakes region and none of them had a Victoria Marie Edison listed as a student there.
