Glancing at the clock on her bedside table, she noted that it was almost five am. She might as well get up, shower and get ready for her day. There were only a few weeks before Spring break and she had a great deal to do. She would get into the office this morning and get a head start on her classes and her papers. She wanted to be able to get several things ready and taken care of before she began working on the finals for this term.
As she pulled into the parking lot, she looked around at her surroundings. The campus was much smaller than the campus where she went to school. However, it was a beautiful place. The buildings were nested into the larger trees; there were patios with benches all around for the students and staff. The flowers, when in bloom as they were now, were vibrant in color and rich in smell. In fact, today, the smells were almost overwhelmingly strong.
She walked into her office at a little after seven. Since the first class did not start until 8:45, she had a little time to get organized and ready for the day. She gathered her notes for the first lecture and then made sure her test for the two o’clock class was in order. She even finished grading the last of the short papers that had been turned in during their Friday class.
