Prior to heading down this path one could stand on the landing and see an expanse of grasslands which seemed to go on forever. This was called the meadows. The meadows were a mixture of high grasses and for some reason fewer trees than the area to the north. The beauty of this expanse of grasses lay in its mixture of colors that were mostly variations of green. This dominance of green was only an appearance from the bridge overlooking the rolling landscape within the meadows.
Since Kaori was nearsighted, she could not see the beauty of the area from the landing upon crossing the bridge. She somehow had a great appreciation for this area. Upon approaching flowers within the meadows she would have the pleasure of experiencing other colors and would often stop to pray over the flowers. While this was one of the areas from which she selected plants and roots to create many of her herbal medicines, Kaori had a gift of finding plants for her uses in other areas as well.
“I find this to be like my home among the gods. My feelings and my life here has no end. I am among those who have found their true home in the heavens,” Kaori would say about the meadows.
One could not understand what it is like to be led by god unless one has had some prior experience with it. Kaori found plants for her uses without knowing consciously where to look. These plants seemed to find her.
