“You will have to be patient with me as I walk slowly due to my poor eyesight,” said Kaori.
“I will gladly walk as you please. I will be here early in the morning.”
“That pleases me that you would ask. I will be ready.”
The following day, Yousho arrived very early happy to find Kaori waiting at the entrance to her hut.
“You are already prepared to go. Why don’t you climb onto my back and we can get to the meadows quickly as I will walk quickly? You need not worry about your eyesight.”
“Let me down when we cross the bridge into the meadows. I want to walk slowly and enjoy the beauty as well as the morning quiet.”
“It pleases me that you would ask to join me here this morning. I guess that you heard that this is one of my favorite places for a walk.
“Yes, I did want to spend more time with you as you healed me so quickly that I did not have another excuse to come to see you,” said Yousho.
“Please do not hurt yourself again. You may come whenever I am not too busy with other patients,” Kaori said as she smiled.
Yousho was very conscious of everything Kaori did. As they entered the meadows, he quietly put her on the grass and she led him to some of her favorite places. A hawk showed up and Kaori entered her trance. Yousho simply watched in amazement. As the hawk slowly took to the sky, Kaori began to turn her attention back to Yousho.
