“I…?” Huo Mian’s heart sank; she wasn’t sure what Huo Siqian wanted.

“Are you going to give it to me or not?”

“How am I supposed to give it to you if you didn’t even tell me what you wanted?”

“Haha… simple, I want a lock of your hair…” Huo Siqian then reached out his hand to touch Huo Mian’s head.

However, she impolitely brushed it away…

“Why do you want my hair? Are you planning to put a curse on me?” Huo Mian looked at him with a grim expression.

“Haha… you have such a wild imagination. It’s a shame that you don’t write novels…” Huo Siqian burst into laughter.

He had never laughed so happily in a long time…

“Then what do you want my hair for?” To Huo Mian, asking someone for their hair was borderline creepy.

She had read too many horror stories and didn’t want to randomly give other people her hair.

Huo Siqian didn’t answer her. Rather, he turned around and walked up to a guest room on the second floor and opened the door.

“This room is spacious, you can sleep here tonight.”

“Okay.” Huo Mian nodded and walked in.

She scanned the room, it was filled with post-modern decorations, mixed with black and blue. The room was simple, but nice to look at.

To tell the truth, the room really fit her style…

“What else can I help you with?” Huo Mian turned around to see Huo Siqian still standing there, with no intention of leaving.

“Give me your hair…” Huo Siqian reached out his hand and asked for his birthday present.

“You didn’t say what it was for, why should I give it to you?”

“Don’t worry, I’m not going to curse you… I’m not that creepy,” Huo Siqian explained with a smile on his face.

“I wouldn’t be so sure.” Huo Mian was obviously unwilling.

Huo Siqian walked up to her and closed the door behind him…

Then, he whispered into Huo Mian’s ear, “I want to test your DNA.”

“You…?” Huo Mian was shocked upon hearing this.

Why in the world would Huo Siqian want to test her DNA? Did he find out about something?

Huo Siqian was amused at how Huo Mian’s expressions changed.

Then, he laughed, “I must have frightened you, I was just joking. Why would I test your DNA? I already know you’re my little sister.”

“I…” Huo Mian was suddenly at a loss for words.

“What’s wrong? Didn’t Uncle Jing do a DNA test with our dad all those years ago? What are you afraid of?” Huo Siqian asked.

Huo Mian suddenly remembered that her mother told her that soon after she was born, Uncle Jing took her to get a paternity test with Huo Zhenghai.

The answer was obvious, but the Huo Family still didn’t want to recognize her, all because she was a girl.

Her life would’ve been much more different if she was born a boy. Everyone knew that Huo Zhenghai favored sons.

But… if she was certain that she wasn’t Huo Zhenghai’s daughter, then what was with the DNA test all those years ago?

Did Uncle Jing do something? But why would he do that?

Huo Mian was confused…

From her investigations, Jing De, her Uncle Jing, was the only person who knew the truth about everything.

He probably knew exactly what went down at Dong Tao Town.

If he knew the truth, why would Uncle Jing prove to Huo Zhenghai that Huo Mian was his daughter with a DNA test?

Why would he do that? For money? It didn’t make sense…

Because even after Huo Zhenghai refused to recognize her, Uncle Jing still worked hard to make a living for their family. He treated her like his own.

It probably didn’t have anything to do with money…

Seeing that Huo Mian was once again lost in thought and not paying attention to him…

Huo Siqian reminded her again, “Mian, my little sister, can’t we just enjoy a conversation?”
