Everything would turn out fine, because she loved Daniel more than anything and she knew he loved her, too. The prospect of sharing a bed with him every night and waking up in his arms every morning erased all her fears. Moving to New York was the right decision.

When Daniel took her hand and pressed a kiss to her palm, she looked at him. He smiled in that special way that always made her heart flutter and her pulse race, and she couldn’t help but smile back at him. “What?”

“You’re beautiful, Sabrina.” He smiled again and brushed his lips over her knuckles. “I can’t tell you how happy I am that you’re moving to New York with me.”

She smiled warmly. “I’m happy, too.”

“Then why do you look so worried?”

Sabrina shrugged. “I’m not worried really. It’s just a little scary, moving to a new city where I don’t know anyone.”

He leaned closer to her. “You know me. Isn’t that enough? Am I not enough for you?”

“You’re more than enough.”

“Then what’s the problem?”

“Nothing.” She gave him a reassuring smile. “Everything is going to be absolutely perfect.”

Saying those words made her feel better. She simply would have to quash those little doubts that kept creeping up on her, trying to tell her that moving in with a man after knowing him for barely two weeks was crazy. Fine, it was crazy. But good crazy!

Daniel settled back in his seat, but kept his hand entwined with hers. “I can’t wait for you to meet my parents. They’re very excited to get to know you.”

Sabrina swallowed hard. Daniel had already talked to her about meeting his parents and she’d agreed, but it didn’t mean she wasn’t apprehensive about it. What if they didn’t like her? What if they thought that their son was making a hasty decision by having asked her to move in with him? That would be awful. Would Daniel rethink his decision about her if his parents didn’t approve of her? The thought was too much to bear. One way or another, she’d have to make a good impression on Daniel’s parents.

“You look worried again.”

“I am.” She met his gaze. “Meeting my boyfriend’s parents is a big deal. Wait… ” She felt a wicked grin spread over her face. “Should I be calling you my boyfriend? Or is client more appropriate? No, wait, I believe the contract referred to you as my employer. That’s right.” She tried to hold back a chuckle.

Daniel didn’t look amused. “You’re my girlfriend, Sabrina, and I’m your boyfriend. I won’t settle for anything less.”

“Where’s your sense of humor?”

He continued to frown. “Our relationship is nothing to joke about. And even the label of girlfriend isn’t really enough. You’re so much more to me than just a girlfriend.”

She smiled and her heart melted a little. Daniel always knew what to say to make her feel good about herself.

Shifting in her seat, she looked at him. “Seriously though, Daniel, what are we going to tell your parents when they ask us how we met?”

“We’ll tell them the truth,” he said calmly.

When she looked back at him in horror, he laughed. “That my friend Tim set us up on a blind date.”

She gave him a scolding slap on his shoulder. “I thought our relationship is nothing to joke about.”

He snatched her hand and kissed it, a twinkle in his eyes. “See, I do have a sense of humor. Of course we’ll leave out the fact that Tim lied to me about what he was doing and that I didn’t know I was being set up.”

“And the fact that I was pretending to be an escort,” she added.

There was no way she could ever tell anyone about this part of their history, especially not his parents. It was bad enough that she’d agreed to it in the first place, and she thanked her lucky stars that Daniel had still wanted her despite the fact that she’d pretended to be an escort. Most other men would have never considered her girlfriend material after that, let alone asked her to live with him.

“It will remain our secret.” He reached out and caressed her cheek with the back of his hand. “Please relax, baby. My parents are going to love you as much as I do.”

“You really think so?”

“I know so.” Daniel speared his fingers into her hair and brought her closer to him. He slanted his lips over hers and parted them with his tongue, expertly exploring her mouth as if he’d spent his entire life kissing her and only her.

Sparks ignited deep within her core, and she cursed the fact that they weren’t alone. She wanted nothing more than to rip the clothes from his body and have him make love to her. She wanted Daniel to whisper sweet words to her as he pleasured her and drove her to ecstasy. Just as he’d done during the last two weeks.
