I picked up my phone and called Erin. After a few rings, she answered.

"Erin, its Laurel," I said, afraid she was going to hang up on me.

"Hey, where the hell have you been?" she asked.

"I'm really sorry I haven't talked to you since that night. I was going to call but a lot happened," my voice started to break.

I could feel the tears coming on and I burst into tears, throwing myself on my bed.

"Don't worry," Erin tried to calm me down. "It's okay. Tell me what's going on".

I broke down and tried to go over all the details of what happened that night on Samhain with Dantalion. And how I hadn't seen or heard from him in months. Erin didn't really know the whole story of how Dantalion was bound to my soul, and what really happened the night in the Courtyard. She only knew what Rowan had told her when he found me there. I started to tell Erin about my feelings for Dantalion.

"It's like his is the only voice I ever hear. When he's not with me, I can't breathe. I can't feel. I can't even think!" I cried.

"Laurel, relax," Erin said worried. "Calm down, everything will fall into place."

She didn't know the extent of what was happening. And I knew I wasn't about to explain the details.

"Thanks Erin," I replied, my voice still shaky. "Do you think you can call Lucia and let her know what's going on, so she's not mad at me too?" I asked.

"No problem. I'll call her," Erin said. "And she's NOT mad at you! We'll talk soon okay?"

"Okay, thanks Erin. Bye." After I hung up the phone, at least I felt a little better letting my friends in on a fraction of what was happening in my life.

I know Erin's life was pretty simple. She dated on and off, no special demon in her love life.

Lucia had boyfriends all the time. Sometimes, we went for months and months before we ever saw her. So I knew she'd understand.

I went into my bathroom splashing water over my face and climbed into bed, opening pages to the grimoire showing different seals of the Goetia.

Dantalion's seal was there, like the one I now had on my forearm. It explained that one of his powers was causing love and showing it in visions. I was all too familiar with that trait. He was master in the arts and sciences and could wield fire. His power of thought and his ability to change them at his will, along with his power to heal must have been how he spoke to me in my dreams and healed my wounds. It explained that he was a Duke who governed thirty six legions of spirits as a demon.
