"Laurel, I heard what happened to you. How do you feel?" Erin asked.

"I'm fine. Brand new, thanks to Rowan".

I started thinking of Dantalion again. Rowan could tell by the look on my face it might be better if we just changed the subject. We sucked down cappuccinos and walked around campus.

"So, we're all meeting at the Courtyard for Samhain right?"

"Yea, definitely!" Erin answered back. "It's Halloween. Is Lucia coming?"

Lucia was taking up Humanities as her Major. She lived the farthest from campus. She was the outgoing type, and really trendy in her style. She always wore some new outfit every time we would go out and constantly changed her hairstyles. Lately, it was dark black, short and tapered up the back of her neck. The front was longer and had blonde streaks running through it. She had a pretty dark skinned complexion and wore way too much makeup.

I saw less and less of her ever since I began researching demonology on top of my other subjects. And lately, since the incident in the Courtyard with Dantalion, I hadn't told her what happened.

As we were talking, I felt cold penetrate my body. I glanced over behind one of the gothic gates leading into the residence halls and saw a dark shape moving quickly behind an alcove. I tore off from Erin and Rowan, racing over to the alcove. The figure was gone.

"I know I'm not seeing things!" I screamed aloud.

"What the hell is she talking about?" Erin asked Rowan.

"Oh, Laurel's been having these nightmares, or dreams. Whatever. I'm surprised she never told you. She sees this shadow person in her nightmares, like a shape shifter or something."

"It's not as crazy as it sounds" I defended myself. "Erin, you know that if a person goes into deep meditative sleep, anything that is felt or seen can manifest in reality. Sort of like an outer body experience."

They laughed out loud. "Right!"

"I'm not lying to you guys. What happened to me at the Courtyard, it's no accident!"

My friends knew the basics of what was going on with me, mostly Rowan. They just didn't know how obsessed I was with Dantalion. They would never understand the hold he has on me.

"Listen guys…I'm gonna be late for class. I'll talk to you later," Erin said, grabbing her stuff and heading in the other direction.

"Okay, see you later," I yelled as she was already half way down the street.
