“Yeah. I will be up until midnight. So if you want you can call whenever.” He says. “Ok, Dwayne. Thank you. I will talk to you later. Bye.” I say. “Bye.” He says and we both hang up. And I continue my drive to my new life.
It is late when I finally pull into my grandma's driveway. The lights are on. So I guess that grandma and my aunt are expecting me. They run outside to me with arms wide open.
“Hey, guys,” I say. “Are you ok? Your brother brought all of your things here, so we were kind of worried about what is happening.” My aunt says.
I hug her back, not wanting to let go. She has always had the smell of something exotic that I have never been able to name. I guess that one career that I want is out of the window! I would never make it in the industry of perfume. I can’t name a smell even if it hit me in the face!
I feel myself tearing up so I huge her tighter. Mom nor dad never loved me like they did. (They meaning my grandma, my aunt, and my brother.)
My grandma comes and hugs us. “Shhhh.” Is all I can hear above the sound of my own breaths. They finally are able to make my breathing even. “Alivia, are you hungry?” Aunt Christi asks.
