I carried Oliver until I sensed the metal in his shoulder start to flood his system. I set him on his feet and ran next to him, trying to keep up with his newly energised legs. We reached the car within five minutes. I fired up the powerful engine I knew so well and drove us the hell out of there.

Oliver

They shot me. They bloody shot me.

Oh man, were they ever going to get what was coming for them. I let the rage-filled images of their dismembered bodies seep through and energise my soul, just as their bullet had invigorated my body.

They would die, and they would die hurting.

Angus drove in silence, a muscle twitching in his jaw as he assessed the ramifications of what we had just discovered. I was too pissed at the lot of them to think rationally, so I dredged up memories of people I'd killed in wars gone by and used them to soothe my anger, watching the images flicker across my mind's eye like some people watch old home movies. Angus shook his head and grinned at me as they were reflected in his own head, and touched a switch on the stereo system. Nine Inch Nails blasted from the speakers, and I grinned back at him. Not really music to pacify the beast, but then what was the point of trying to placate the creature when it was jerking and juddering at its restraints, wanting to kill and maim and destroy, and making me feel so alive.

"They will die," I told Angus.

"I know," he said. "It's the how that could be a bit of a challenge. We need to get in there first. We can't fly in. We certainly can't sneak in. We could barge in, but only if we had a tank or something like that. Looks like we may have some work to do. Fergus might have an alternative plan, but I can't see how he could get us in there within the next day or two."

"Hang on," I said, fixating on one fragment of all he had just said.

"What?" Angus glanced sideways at me, the puzzled frown on his face clearing as he saw the image I transmitted to him.

"What was that you said about a tank?" I asked.

Rebecca

Fergus changed his mind, as I had suspected he would. He woke me up the next morning with an apologetic grin. I yawned and eyed him with suspicion.

"What?" I asked.

"I'm not coming back to Russia with you, little sister. I'm going to take you to the airport and make sure you're on the plane and it's taking off, and then I'm going to come back here and play." His grin widened. "You have no idea of some of the stuff Oliver had stashed away. And Angus, my own brother. Keeping secrets from me." He shook his head with mock despair. "You don't mind, do you Bex?"
