Justin had arranged for supper to be delivered to them and they ate by candlelight. It was a romantic start for their marriage, in a private and comfortable setting for her. No doubt Justin had thought of that part when he was making all his plans.

After supper they prepared everything for an early departure the next morning. Rushed as it all had been, it was all fitting together seamlessly. Justin had been in charge of his life for a long time and he was, at least to some degree, chauvinistic about the man's role in a relationship. In part, that probably had as much to do with his upbringing as his temperament. Hopefully they would grow together in that aspect, but she had already decided that she could live with it if he didn't. Every couple had a point of contention that they never came to terms with and she suspected that might be theirs. Justin wasn't selfish or disrespectful. He simply had concrete ideas about what constituted a man. While she didn't necessarily agree with some of them, she certainly thought that he was as much a man as any she had met so far - much more so than most. It wasn't because he took control, but because he was self-disciplined and dependable. The fact that they were temperamentally compatible and physically attracted to each other was icing on the cake.

Their first night together was even better than she had imagined. Even in making love, Justin took the lead, and he was both masterful and considerate. Afterward they slept, he with one arm around her. She had never felt as thoroughly content in her life. She was glad they didn't wait to get married. Life with him was going to be exciting.
