​Sarah wiped off the window sill after her older sister Joanie had cleaned the window. Then both of them wiped off the tops of the display cases plus the display case glass then swept and mopped the floor then preceded to the business kitchen and started wiping down the work tables and cabinets. They wern't sure where Joan wanted the equipement put so they placed them on the middle work table. Then Joanie cleaned the two huge ovens as good as she could but realized you needed a long handle brush to get really good and went up to find aunt Joan. Joan came down and looked at it and told the girls that she would have to get one at a later time so they finished up by cleaning the sink then sweeping and mopping that kitchen. They cleaned the inside of the pantry and it was almost ready to go.

​ All four of them swept and mopped the upstairs bedrooms and then John and the boys Jonah and Sam carried up the beds and other bedroom furniture.and sat them up then Sarah and Joanie made the beds and they went to bed very exhausted. Joan got up earlier than the others and cooked Bacon and pancakes for and made a pot of coffee and orange juice for breakfast John and the boys put the rails up outside and it met Joan's approval with a nod of the head and a big smile. The painting of the office and the baking shop went well. When Janis went shopping with Sarah and Joanie they bouth a long handle brush to clean out the big ovens plus a long handle commerical fan brush for the ceiling fans that was higher than what the long swifter fan brush. John said the closer to the winter time he would hire a chimney sweeper to clean out the fireplace. There was a few other jobs that they wished they could afford to pay for professional companies to do for them. Joan stated if she sell the candy shop at a resonable time that just maybe they could. She got ahold of the county and scheduled an appointment to have her business inspected to see if she could get a permit to do business. Within days someone had bought her candy shop business back home so they had the money for the plumbing, heating and air conditioning, and a painting companies to come and take care of things with money left over to buy Joan a long handle
