Page 65The thought of prison made her look at Jerome again. “I can’t frame him for anything.”
“The five years he spent in prison wasn’t enough. I will not involve you in anything, all you need to do is keep me posted on Flora’s whereabouts” He assured her.
“This is Ricky we are talking about, he has been nothing but loyal to you and me. I feel like we are overreacting.” She said bitterly.
Jerome smiled. “We are not killing anyone this time, we will not even get our hands dirty. All we are trying to do is create tension between him and Flora then we can take the money to ourselves while he enjoys his time behind bars.”
“I won’t do it.” Angie scolded.
“You don’t have a choice honey. How would Ricky feel if he found out what you did five years ago?” he said.
“I will tell him I was lonely and slept with you once. It was a mistake.” Angie closed her eyes and folded her lips as if trapping in a sigh of frustration.
“You know damn well that’s not what I’m talking about.” An impatient ringing of the phone that sounded like a wasp was trying to get into the house broke the tension. “I need to get that.” Angie said with relief, she got up as Jerome held her hand.
