The taxi pulled up in Jerome’s driveway.

“We are here sir,” the cabbie announced.

“Thanks.” Jerome thrust a twenty at the cabbie and jumped out of the cab. He peered up his building, he always checked before barging in.

“What the hell?” Jerome looked up to see if there was any sign of a tornado that had torn his porch. His welcome mat was upside down, everything didn’t fit. No one knew who he was and they would never think of vandalizing every neighbor’s porch. This was definitely the work of someone who knew who he was. The front door was locked, that only meant that the person who did it knew him. The person who did this might still be around, he thought.
