“What’s the big occasion?” Angie asked, her lower lip quivered. Flora kissed Ricky on the lips and answered with a smile.

“Nothing special.” She said and then before Angie’s pique could swell into a full blown tantrum, she brushed a kiss on her forehead and sat down on the couch. She finally felt like she was winning.

“You can use my car if you want.” Betty said looking at Ricky.

“Great mom, since when did you fill up the gas tank? Apparently you always thought the flashing and the E stood for excellent keep driving.”

“Haha, funny.” Betty replied. Flora was enjoying her new care free attitude. She had been dreaming about that moment for over twenty years, being sexy and successful, dating, looking Angie in the eyes and saying haha I won.

“I will apologize until you forgive me honey. I’m truly sorry.” Betty said.

“Uhh, another thing you like saying, seem to be another theme in your life.” Ricky smiled at her sarcasm.

“People make mistakes, that’s why pencils have erasers.” Angie said focusing her look on Ricky.

Her voice was cold, so detached. Flora thought a glacier had launched itself from the North Pole between her and Angie. Something made her furious, she didn’t know what it was and was more than happy to find out. Angie felt sick with pain and loss, she could tell. She watched as Angie gripped her stomach. For the first time, she felt liberated. Whatever it was that provoked Angie made her smile. Was it my dressing? She asked herself.
