Until Sunrise

“I’m I interrupting something?”

“No, I was just talking to my boyfriend, apparently he couldn’t make it that’s why he sent his brother. He can’t even support me when I’m down.” Angie was a great liar and Betty bought her lies all the time. Betty always loved her more than Flora, Angie always kept her secrets and never judged her.

Angie screamed, long and piercing. She jumped up and down indulging her temper and usual tantrums. She punched the air and stomped around. She held her head up and screamed through a clenched teeth. When she grabbed her cell phone to throw it across the room, Betty made a lunge and grabbed it from her.

“Angie, this is damn expensive.”

“I can’t get rid of this pain in my heart, he keeps giving me excuses why he couldn’t come to the funeral.” She fought Betty for the phone. “I hate him, I hate him.” She screamed again.

Betty wrestled the phone from her hands, they ended up on the heap of the floor huffing and panting.

“Want an ice scream?” Betty asked.

She screamed through clenched teeth.

CHAPTER FOUR

“That can’t happen again Flora, it’s okay if you don’t want to go out with me.” Ricky said to Flora the next day, he tried to keep a smile off his face.
