The next day Lindsey awoke to a beautiful Sunday morning. The birds were singing, the sun was shining, and the delicious smell of bacon was coming from the kitchen as Lindsey’s mother was cooking breakfast. Lindsey and her brother and sisters all sat down and enjoyed a delicious breakfast with their parents. After breakfast Lindsey looked out of the living room window and could see that Debbie was already setting up for the recreational activities of the day. Lindsey and her sister Laura headed over to the park to enjoy some more quality time with their wonderful friend Debbie. Lindsey and Laura sat on the bench and waited while Debbie gathered items for the day’s events. The girls were curious as to what she had planned for them for the day. Little did they know that Debbie had planned a huge surprise for them and all of the other kids that were signed up in the parks and recreations program. The girls kept nagging her to tell them what they would be doing for the day, Finally Debbie responded and told the girls that she had a huge surprise and that she had rented a van for all of the kids to attend a day camp at sly park. The girls were so excited and couldn’t wait to run home and ask their parents if they could go. Debbie told the girls not to forget to also ask if their little brother Mike could go as this was an event for all of the kids. The girls ran home quickly and asked their parents if they could go. Both parents agreed as they thought it would be nice. Mike Jr. was really excited and couldn’t wait to go. Linda packed the kids lunches and sent them on their way. And even though Angelina was too young to go, she packed her a lunch too, just to make her feel that she was important too. The kids ran as fast as they could back to the park and handed their signed permission slips to Debbie. All of the kids piled into the van including the other kids that had permission. There was 10 people in all including Debbie, the van driver, and 8 kids total. Debbie checked to make sure everyone was buckled in and had their lunches packed and were appropriately dressed for the weather. Before they knew it they were on their merry way to Sly Park. It was a long trip there, a little over an hour long. The kids sang songs to kill the time.
