The Spider's Fly

November 20th 1972. It was a beautiful, crisp, Monday morning as Lindsey awoke startled, to the sound of her alarm clock. As she started getting ready for school, she quickly remembered that there was no school today since it was the first day of Thanksgiving vacation. Lindsey went back to bed, but she was unable to sleep. With everyone else in the house still in bed, Lindsey was bored and decided to watch the morning cartoons as usual. Though Lindsey was bored and missed her friends, she was still more happy with staying at home, than going to school. With much anticipation for the arrival of Thanksgiving, the next few days seemed to drag along for Lindsey, as well as the rest of the family. You could smell the delicious aroma as Lindsey’s mother Linda worked furiously in the kitchen, as she did every year, doing her best to provide the best Thanksgiving Day dinner ever. Thanksgiving Day had arrived. As Lindsey’s father Mike Sr. sat in his easy chair, her mother assigned chores to Lindsey’s older sister. Lindsey’s mother and sister worked hard to get dinner ready, while Lindsey and her brother watched cartoons to pass the time. Dinner was ready. Everyone sat at the table, waiting patiently to feast as her father said grace. Finally it was time to eat. This Thanksgiving dinner was the best ever. There was plenty of food and desserts and everyone ate until they could eat no more. For the next few days, just like every other year, Lindsey and her family sat around the house being lazy, eating Thanksgiving dinner left overs, and enjoying each others company.
