The Senator's Vote

I headed to the break room, only three hours left and not a single threat. Keith and I might actually get out of here at a decent time. I stepped inside to find Keith sitting at the table drinking a Pepsi. He got up and handed me one. "Hi," he said.

"Hi, thanks honey." I kissed him softly. I then opened the Pepsi and took a drink. "Today's been quiet."

"Yeah it has, it's been nice." He put his arms around me.

"You think the terrorists took a break and decided to let us get married?"

"They must've got the memo I sent out."

I laughed. "A memo? Think they'll listen?"

"I hope so." He paused and smiled as he looked at me. "So, if we get out of here when we are supposed to, how about a dinner and a movie?"

"Sounds perfect," I put the soda down and put my arms around his neck. "Or take out, a rented movie and a night in."

"Also good," he said. "Now what to do to get me through the rest of the day full of paperwork and reports?"

"A candy bar is a good pick me up."

"Nah."

"You could play a prank on Jeff and Pete again."

"Send them on a fake mission. They end up at Pizza Hut where my pizza is waiting?"

I laughed. "You've thought this through haven't you?"

"Yeah, I was bored earlier."

"So was I."

"But you know what would get me through the rest of the day?"

"No what?"

"This." He kissed me and forgetting where we were I leaned in and kissed him back. He pulled me closer and my fingers became tangled in his hair as we kissed passionately.

"Ahem," Amy said and we jumped apart. I turned bright red and looked at the floor. Keith scratched his neck and then pretended that his shoe needed to be tied.

"Save it for the honeymoon you two."

"Oh, Ames, why do you have to spoil the fun?"

She laughed. "When I find a cute guy that I can kiss in the break room then you two can make out all you want."

Keith stood back up and then grabbed his Pepsi. He handed me mine and I smiled at him.

"Well, there is that guy in IT," I teased.
