“Yes ah. Starting from scratch, I’ve gone up to here. I feel a great sense of accomplishment. When the construction of the city walls are completed, I will begin to build the buildings inside The Rising Sun City.”

‘The walls made from obsidian are indeed strong, but if you go to the ground below the central tower, you may make more discoveries.’ Xiu tossed out an opinion.

Shen Yanxiao raised her eyebrows slightly. She also did not ask much and just directly went to the central tower in accordance with Xiu’s words.

The central tower stood in the center of The Rising Sun City. After many years of the baptism of war, it had been somewhat broken, but the original appearance had generally been preserved.

Stepping into the tower, she saw the stairs which were thoroughly charred. Shen Yanxiao looked for an entrance that might lead to the underground. Finally, she found a hidden passage under the broken statue of a demon.

Entering the passage, Shen Yanxiao took out a light-congealing crystal and lit up the surrounding. The narrow path could allow only one person to pass. The damp walls around her made people feel extremely cold.

The narrow passage did not appear to be long. Soon, she arrived at the circular staircase extending infinitely downward.

Shen Yanxiao did not know how long she had gone down. Just as she felt exhausted, the staircase finally reached its end.

At the end of the staircase, a simple stone door in front blocked Shen Yanxiao, the stone door was adorned with fine patterns on both sides. After thousands of years, the craftsmen’s exquisite techniques were still displayed.

‘Push it.’ Xiu said timely.

Shen Yanxiao took a step forward and took a deep breath. She extended her arms and tried to push the stone door.

However, this seemingly insignificant stone door was just like a million tons of rock. Shen Yanxiao had already tried her best and still failed to push it open in the slightest.

“Forget it! This is just impossible, it’s too heavy!” Shen Yanxiao rubbed her sore wrist. She concentrated all her strength on her hands, yet she still couldn’t push the door open. It must be known that with her current strength, punching a gravel wall was not difficult.

‘Put your hands on the door, I’ll do it.’ Xiu’s cold and cheerless voice resounded.

In accordance with his words, Shen Yanxiao placed her hands on the stone door.

The next second, she seemed to feel a pair of cold hands covering her own hands. A hint of coolness was coming from the palm of her hands, yet she couldn’t see anything.

Creak!

The stone door was slowly pushed open. Shen Yanxiao’s eyes widened in surprise.

The cool feeling disappeared from her hands as Xiu withdrew his power.

Holding the light congealing crystal, Shen Yanxiao entered through the stone door.

Obviously, it was closed for thousands of years, but inside the stone door, torches were still lit.

Behind the stone door was a huge basement. The entire basement was circular. On the surrounding walls, there were torches burning with blue flames.

Without air or fuel, the flames on these torches were still swaying.

‘This is the underground energy source of The Rising Sun City. Can you see the dark crystal in the middle of the room?’

Shen Yanxiao looked at the dark crystal in the center of the room. Its entirety was the size of a person’s head. It was like a dusty pearl. It was dull and even though there were flames swaying around, they did not leave a slight reflection on it. It was pure black and it was as if it was absorbing the light around it.

“What is this?” Shen Yanxiao walked over and picked up the dark crystal.

The crystal was not small, but its weight was extremely light. Shen Yanxiao lifted it with little effort.
