Seeking the Flying Sword Path
Page 615Qin Yun flipped his hand and retrieved a black jade bottle. He first consumed a drop of Samsara Dew before sitting cross-legged and closing his eyes.
Without being disturbed by anything of the external world, he immersed himself completely in cultivation.
Having just broken through, it was the best time to cultivate.
All these years, Qin Yun had been studying the charms of the Seven Stars and had repeatedly attempted to fuse the Seven Stars Mystic Art into his Sword Dao. He was using this brand new angle to deduce his Sword Dao in a different way. He had even finished writing the Seven Stars Sword Dao’s first volume. He had also been attempting to write the second volume all these years; therefore, Qin Yun had many ideas about fusing the Seven Stars Great Dao with his own Sword Dao.
And now, the Seven Stars Great Dao had been achieved! He naturally attempted to fuse it with his Sword Dao.
Originally, Qin Yun’s Sword Dao referred to the the three Great Dao of Heaven, Earth, and Man. Only by fully comprehending the Great Dao of Man would his Sword Dao achieve perfection. However, what was next after achieving perfection? As he had been taught by his master, the Numinous Treasure Dao Ancestor, he also knew from what the books wrote…
Qin Yun knew very well…
Above the perfected Great Dao was the Heavenly Dao realm!
What was the Heavenly Dao realm?
As the saying goes, the Dao begets One, One begets Two, Two begets Three, Three begets all things. The Heavenly Dao referred to the principle regarding the manifestation of all things and the inference of their evolution.
To figure out One, Two, and Three was not considered difficult. It was the figuring out of all things that was difficult!
For instance, Old Mother of Blackfoal Mountain’s Limitless Great Dao or the Emperor Polestar’s Stellar Heavenly Cycle Great Dao, Mighty God Zhurong’s Connate Fire Great Dao, and Human Sovereign Fuxishi’s Eight Trigrams Great Dao… These were the most basic principles of the Heavenly Dao. They were part of One and Two. What they needed was to gradually ‘beget all things.’
All things meant everything in the Three Realms, a Dao of the Myriad Things in Heaven and Earth. It was much more complicated than the Limitless Great Dao or Heaven, Earth, Man Great Dao.
How was one to beget all things?
Perfected Great Dao experts pursued the answer to this question. According to what Qin Yun learned from his master, there was no other way but to figure out even more Great Dao and constantly infuse them into the Great Dao they originally had figured out. The more they infused, the more their Dao would approach ‘all things.’
It would reach a point when the numerous Great Dao infused would give the cultivator an epiphany, allowing for a qualitative change.
They would then figure out the Dao of the Myriad Things in Heaven and Earth, which was also the Heavenly Dao realm.
Therefore—
There was a fundamental reason to fuse all Dao as one. Upon fusing everything, it would then become the Dao of the Myriad Things in Heaven and Earth.
As for the Seven Stars Great Dao… it was a branch of the Dao of the Stellar Heavenly Cycle.
The Stellar Heavenly Cycle was to dissect the Heavenly Dao from the number of Heavenly Cycles. It was more complicated; so, when Emperor Polestar cast his sword art, it was considered the most calculating sword art in the Three Realms. If he were to infer the heavenly secrets… he would be the best among perfected Great Dao existences. It was a path that was inclined towards counting and calculation.
Similar perfected Great Dao could have opposing inclinations.
Some were good at calculation! Others were good at frontal assaults! Some were good at creating arrays! These were all decided by one’s path.
And when all paths were melded together, it would be the Dao of the Myriad Things in Heaven and Earth.
The Seven Stars Great Dao was a portion of the Stellar Heavenly Cycle. It was also good at inferring and calculation. When Qin Yun attempted to fuse the Seven Stars Great Dao into his Sword Dao, his experience from the past five centuries of attempts made the process rather smooth.
It felt like…
The original Heaven, Earth, and Man were one to begin with, but now, there was an additional seven veins within. The seven veins made the union of Heaven, Earth, and Man tighter.
If Qin Yun could figure out the Dao of the Stellar Heavenly Cycle and fused that as well, the Great Dao he originally figured out would have an additional vein of the Counting of the Heavenly Cycles. That way, his Great Dao’s connectivity and tightness would be accentuated. His strength would likely experience a qualitative change. The qualitative change that resulted from the fusing of the Heaven, Earth, and Man Great Dao and the Stellar Heavenly Cycle Great Dao might push him directly to the Heavenly Dao realm.
Of course, this was just a guess on Qin Yun’s part.
It was already extremely difficult to figure out a perfected Great Dao. To figure out a second perfected Great Dao? It was still a distant thought.
…
Night.
Qin Yuluo was in front of a window inside the house as she quietly looked at the star-studded sky. She was a half-step Golden Immortal, so it naturally did not matter if she slept.
At that moment, she was thinking of a particular person.
Although she had decided to temporarily give up, she could not stop herself from thinking of him.
“Is Brother Meng still in Cang City?” thought Qin Yuluo. “Will he ultimately be together with that demon, Phoenix Voice?”
Suddenly, Qin Yuluo sensed an abnormal fluctuation.
Qin Yuluo went out the house, puzzled.
She saw at a glance Qin Yun sitting cross-legged in the yard. At that moment, there was a layer of pure aura swishing above his head while a tainted aura sank beneath him. In between the pure and tainted auras, there was a distinct mixture. Between the two was the mortal world. Inside the mortal world, there were faint scenes of mountains, rivers, and vegetation. It was none other than phenomena of the Heaven, Earth, and Man. However, the mortal world’s scenes were more indistinct.
There were seven stars which undulated within. They were constantly in motion, forming different constellation patterns. The stellar chart vein… was also influencing the changes of the Heaven, Earth, and Man.
Phenomenon changes.
This left Qin Yuluo somewhat taken aback.
“A Great Dao phenomenon?” Qin Yuluo watched as she felt that it was something she herself was pursuing, but also felt that she was plagued with too many questions.
If she did not understand, it meant she did not understand.
Placed in front of her, it felt like everything was separated by a thin veil.
“From the looks of it, Grandfather had a sudden epiphany. He did not even return to Mt. Lightning Roar for cultivation and just sat here to cultivate.” Qin Yuluo smiled and felt very happy. “Grandfather has been teaching me the past five centuries or so and I have always been worried if I was interfering with his cultivation. Now that he has gained insights, it is just as he said, teaching a disciple is also a form of cultivation.”
Qin Yuluo knew very well that he was not to be disturbed at this critical juncture. She immediately resolved to carefully guard her Grandfather.
…
Days passed one after another.
When Mighty figures were immersed in their cultivation, time would naturally pass quickly.
The residence by the side of the road was refined by Qin Yun himself and he brought it along with him. The residence naturally had a few simple array formations set up. But with Qin Yun’s means, even a simple set up made the residence by the side of the road invisible to anyone below the mighty figure stage.
“Giddy up! Giddy up! Giddy up!” People galloped down the street.
“Quick, we must arrive at the next town before nightfall or we will have to spend the night outside.”
“Brothers, quick! I still want to have a bowl of hot soup and have a good night’s rest.”
The train of horses galloped past the residence without them even seeing it. Even if they wished to touch it, it was impossible. The distance that separated them was like thousands of kilometers.
One day.
Rain began to patter down, but the drops were blocked when they reached three feet from Qin Yun.
“I’ve finally succeeded.” Qin Yun opened his eyes in delight as he stood up with a grin.
“Grandfather.” Qin Yuluo rushed out of the house and saw Qin Yun. She immediately bowed and giggled, “Congratulations, Grandfather!”
“I never expected three years to pass in just one sitting,” said Qin Yun with a smile. “I made you wait foolishly beside me for three years.”
Qin Yuluo hurriedly said, “I have long become immortal. Three years is nothing to me. Grandfather, your cultivation is what’s most important.”
Qin Yun was in a good mood as he said with a smile, “I did gain a lot this time. Wait beside me for a while.”
With that said, Qin Yun took out a book and sat on a stone bench in the yard. He placed the book on a stone table and began writing. After more than five centuries of fusion attempts, the three years after figuring out the Seven Stars Great Dao, he had long fused the Seven Stars Great Dao into his Sword Dao. Now, he could naturally finish writing some of the sword moves he figured out on text.
“This is?” Qin Yuluo watched by the side, feeling curious.
In just ten minutes, Qin Yun finished writing. On the cover were the words ‘Seven Stars Sword Dao.’ After flipping it open, one would learn that it was the second volume.
“The first volume I passed you last time only contained superficial knowledge,” said Qin Yun with a smile. “It was suitable for the cultivation of those below the Golden Immortal realm.
“As for this volume, it is the second volume of the Seven Stars Sword Dao I created. It’s suitable for Golden Immortal cultivation. As for Yuluo, you presently have the strength of a half-step Golden Immortal… You can attempt it. Try cultivating it and see if you get any inspiration from it. If you encounter things that puzzle you, you can put it aside. There’s no hurry,” said Qin Yun with a smile. “You can work hard at cultivating it when you become a Golden Immortal.”
This was the highest attainment of his present Sword Dao.
The Seven Stars Great Dao and his original Sword Dao had fused completely, giving him insights into various powerful sword moves and sword arrays! His might had also reached a brand new level.
Qin Yun felt that after he fused the Seven Stars Great Dao, his Sword Dao had a tighter connection. Some of his offensive moves had turned more unfathomable and their might had been enhanced by fifty to sixty percent. If he were to set up an array, using the Seven Stars Great Dao which was good at counting and inference, the effect it would have on array formations would be even greater. Qin Yun expected that the Misty Rain Array’s might would increase severalfold. As for inferring the heavenly secrets? And hiding from them? The improvement was rapid. Excluding the Dao Ancestors and Buddhist Ancestor, Qin Yun was now ranked within the top ten in the Three Realms when it came to inferring the heavenly secrets. Some perfected Great Dao existences might have great strength, but they were not necessarily good at inferring the heavenly secrets.
“Thank you, Grandfather.” Qin Yuluo received the manual in excitement as she could not help but flip through it on the spot.
