Remember Everything

“Josh, I’m tired, can we go home?” He whines. I smile and look down at my phone and my beam disperses.

“Oh, god, my uncle is gonna kill me!” I snatch my board off the pavement and run to Ollie. ‘Never Shout Never’s’ Trouble rings through the air. I lift my phone to see my uncle’s sharp face cover my screen. Growling, I wince then put it to my ear, pressing answer.

“I’m headed to the Motel right now then I’m on my way.” I say.

“Ok, sweetie… is Eeko dining with us?”

“No, sir. It’s Eeko and Jake’s date night.” I mutter. “Is Ceda home already?”

“No, she’s with Odea at the motel said she’ll ride home with you.” I sigh and nod.

“Ok, we’ll be home later. Love you, Uncle.”

“Goodbye, Sweetie.”

I turn to see Wayde standing there looking at me with thought in his eyes. “Josh?” I ask teasingly with a small grin. He nods and shrugs.

“I have my secrets I may share later.” He says a sly smirk creeping on his face.

I clench my jaw.

“Hmph.” He laughs then holds his hand out.

“It was a pleasure to meet you.” I take it. A quick surge of heat passes through our touch. I gasp and look into his eyes they sparkle still true, but I see something more… something I would do… his future. I found my Protégé. He had found his Guide but I would not tell him. I yank my hand away.
