Over the years, few of the older people of the tribe learned the written language. Yet, Kaori knew that by requiring that the young people of the village learn the written language that it would eventually become the written language of the people.

Kiki, Kaori’s brother was the teacher who headed language instruction at the school. This young man taught both Kaori and Yousho to read and write. Kiki began to show a genius when it came to language. Through his time spent in Mento, Kiki learned several languages and possessed great talents in multi-lingual skills. His ability to learn new languages quickly seemed without end.

Kaori and Yousho both attended the school and strengthened their language skills. Yousho became an instructor at the school teaching language and physical education.

All the leaders of Hayshua became adept at language skills after attending the school. Even Elder Meesi attended language classes to learn the written language and improve his oral language skills.

Kaori created and taught a class that focused on building a personal relationship with the gods. Kaori began to write down some of the plants she used to create tonics and potions that promote healing. Her belief was that these things do little to heal, but they assist the relaxation of the body to assist the body in its natural healing. Some of her potions were effective in reducing pain, however.
