My Youth Began With Him
Page 568“Once Zhixin graduates, I want him to come and help me at GK,” Qin Chu caressed Huo Mian’s beautiful hair and said, word for word.
“So that’s what you wanted to talk about…”
“I talked to him about it, but he is scared that you won’t agree, so I wanted to discuss it with you first and listen to what you think.”
“It’s good that he can help you, and GK is a big company with bright prospects for him. He’ll also be able to do something he’s good at, but… I’m worried.”
“Worried about what?” Qin Chu asked when he saw Huo Mian’s hesitation.
“I’m scared that others will talk and say that he got to where he is through family connections. Rumors like that will not only hurt you but also him.”
“You don’t have to worry about that, Zhixin’s like my own little brother, and since we’re family, who can say no if I want to bring him into the family business? Zhixin and I only care about what you think. If you agree, then I’ll let him come. If you don’t, I promise to not interfere with his future.”
“Let’s talk about this later, he’s still a long way from graduating, who knows what will happen in the future? If GK goes bankrupt, you might have to become a kept man.”
“Sounds good, then I look forward to being a kept man.” Qin Chu smiled and lowered his head to lightly kiss the corner of Huo Mian’s lips.
He wanted to give all his tenderness to her…
“Honey… let me drive you.”
“No, it’s okay, I can drive. Go back to work, but take care of yourself and remember to rest, okay?”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Huo Mian left Qin Chu’s office with a smile on her face; she didn’t even ask about GK’s venture into the entertainment industry.
Qin Chu wasn’t surprised; first, Huo Mian wasn’t a gossipy person.
Second, this was company affairs, and Huo Mian never got involved with GK’s matters.
They respected and supported their counterpart’s job, but also gave each other enough freedom.
That was the highest realm of loving someone –’I love you, but I won’t overly interfere with your life’… They respected and understood each other.
As soon as Huo Mian arrived at South Side, Director Li called her into her office.
“I’ve improved upon the treatment plan, please take a look.” Huo Mian handed a thick stack of paperwork to her.
After reading it for a while, Director Li nodded her head in satisfaction. “This is good, you are indeed someone I can count on. You’re brave and innovative and broke away from traditional treatment models. I look forward to this.”
“Director, there’s a downside to this. It’s never been done, so I don’t know if he can take it. What if the treatment fails? He’ll break down and become even worse…”
Huo Mian stopped talking. However, it was obvious as to what she wanted to say.
“Don’t worry, I’ve considered the risks. If we don’t come up with a reasonable treatment plan, his situation will worsen anyways. It won’t make a difference either way. Rather than being scared of consequences, we should tackle the problem itself. I agree with your innovative ideas, so go ahead and implement them. Just like always, I trust you.”
“Thank you, Director Li, I will try my best.”
After leaving her office, Huo Mian picked up her phone and called Gao Ran.
“Is she here?”
“Yeah, I called her, she’ll be there soon,” Gao Ran replied.
“If you want to thank me, get your filthy rich husband to buy me a luxurious meal.” Gao Ran laughed.
“Not a problem, we will arrange another day.”
Huo Mian smiled as she hung up the phone… she wasn’t actually that confident with Ni Yang’s treatment plan.
After all, depression was a serious disease – if it were cured, then everyone would be happy. However, if it couldn’t be cured, then it was a matter of someone’s life.
“Head Nurse, she’s here.” Just as Huo Mian was about head downstairs, a neurology nurse ran up to her.
“Okay, I’ll be right there.”
Gao Ran helped her invite a really influential individual, and she secretly wished that this person wouldn’t disappoint her…
