Living With a Temperamental Adonis: 99 Proclamations of Love
Page 923Amazing, out of this world… Ever since he was sent into the sanatorium by his own mother when he was eight, Su Zhinian had viewed his superpowers as some sort of a curse. He really didn’t expect that a girl would one day use such wonderful terms to describe his superpowers.
That afternoon, she had suggested they go for a walk, not because she was in denial, but because she thought it was refreshingly amusing. Did she not understand the ugly side of his superpowers, or had she truly accepted it?
Su Zhinian’s fingertips that were held on Song Qingchun’s waist started to quiver slightly. He suppressed his raging emotions and tried to explain himself as rationally as he could. “Tingting, you have to understand that this means I can read all the thoughts in your heart; you’ll never be able to have any secrets from me.”
“I know…” Song Qingchun’s reply was far calmer than he expected. “…But I’m already going to spend the rest of my life with you, so why would I keep secrets from you?”
I’m already going to spend the rest of my life with you, so why would I keep secrets from you?
Fear and disgust were because they had ulterior motives, but if the intention was pure, what was there to be afraid of?
Su Zhinian was startled by the ease of her logic. He suddenly lowered his head to claim her lips. His kiss was domineering as his tongue swept every corner of her mouth. As they lost themselves in this kiss, they hugged each other closer.
The lights in the tree kept on changing. The occasional passerby would toss them a curious gaze, but the two ignored all others, and their kiss deepened.
…
The day Song Qingchun and Su Zhinian went shopping at ACR, Cheng Qingchong just so happened to go there to shop with her girlfriends. When they exited the restaurant, it was around 10 pm. The night of early spring was quite cold. Cheng Qingchong stood at the entrance putting on her coat when her friend suddenly patted her on her shoulder. “Qingchong, look over there, look!”
Cheng Qincghong turned to see a couple kissing dreamily underneath a tall tree. Even though she couldn’t catch either one of the faces, with just one glance, Cheng Qingchong recognized them as Song Qingchun and Su Zhinian.
The two were so lost their in the kiss that a crowd had formed around them. When they finally parted, the surrounding crowd even applauded. Song Qingchun hid her face shyly in Su Zhinian’s chest, and they left the scene with Su Zhinian pulling her along.
The two had completely disappeared from her view, but Cheng Qingchong still stood there dumbly on the steps of the restaurant. “Qingchong, what are you doing? We’re leaving!”
Cheng Qingchong, who was once more patted on her shoulder, recovered quickly. She smiled apologetically before following her friends to head towards the taxies.
Her friends left before her, and Cheng Qingchong stood there for an extra two minutes before she got into one of the taxies.
The streets were surprisingly empty. Cheng Qingchong sat in the car, looking at the glittering lights that colored the Beijing nightlife through the window, and the scene of Song Qingchun and Su Zhinian kissing kept entering her mind.
