Living With a Temperamental Adonis: 99 Proclamations of Love
Page 903The truck had such a large mass, and thus inertia, that even when it was grinding against the rails, it didn’t stop instantly. It continued to tip forward for a while before it finally stopped. The front part of the truck hanged dangerously off the edge, and it was billowing with dark smoke.
Through the windshield, Song Qingchun could see the truck driver, who was not far away, collapsed like a rag doll in the driver’s seat. There was blood trickling down from his forehead.
Such a gory scene caused Song Qingchun’s stomach to turn, and she immediately turned her face away. The shock of the event caused Song Qingchun’s breath to catch in her throat. She pulled down the car window, and the warm spring draft wafted into the car, carrying with it the faded smell of flowers.
Song Qingchun sighed in relief and couldn’t help but lament, “That was so close!”
Before she heard the response from Su Zhinian, the pungent smell of blood sneaked into her nostrils. Why would the truck driver’s blood drift here so soon?
Song Qingchun frowned when Su Zhinian’s weak voice came from beside her. “Tingting?”
Song Qingchun turned toward the voice. The man was as pale as a sheet of paper. His perfect face was covered with blood. It trailed down his jaw and dripped endlessly on his white shirt, causing red florets to bloom one after another.
Song Qingchun was struck dumb when she saw this. Su Zhinian’s car was at least several meters away from the truck when he stepped on the brakes, and the truck didn’t even make contact with their car, so how did Su Zhinian get hurt?
Su Zhinian stared at Su Zhinian’s injury for a while before realizing something as she turned slowly around to glance at the truck driver. They both suffer a bloody wound to the left side of their head… The injury of the truck driver can be explained by the accident, but what about Su Zhinian? How did he get injured? Who can tell me what’s happening?
Su Zhinian coughed for a whole before he managed to find his voice. When his words came out, they were weaker than before. “Tingting, are… are you alright?”
Song Qingchun, who was still in a stunned state, turned her gaze toward Su Zhinian. It took her a moment before she could meet his eyes. Even though she didn’t say anything, he could see from her face that she was shocked but safe. His heart sighed with relief. He smiled at her and said with difficulty, “It’s wonderful that you’re safe…”
Before he could finish, Su Zhinian started coughing, spraying the steering wheel with blood.
Song Qingchun suddenly woke up. She called his name before her tears came. “Su Zhinian, what’s wrong with you? How did you get injured? Don’t joke with me, Su Zhinian! Tell me, what’s going on?”
The truck driver had collapsed, and Su Zhinian had maintained his consciousness on willpower alone.
He knew that he had many things to explain, but he no longer had the time to give her the details from the beginning until the end.
