Kill Fest

Page 57

Aurora found herself eyeing Vegas even more than the prey itself, a very novice action and one that angered her. The white suited man too could not keep his eyes off the brunette, though when their eyes met, it would only take a single blink for one of them to withdraw and bring forth chaos upon the room. In Jimmy's mind, it was like an old west shoot out with a human target in the middle.

She knew he was about to fire, his hand was starting to shake and his brow was beginning to bead with wetness. For a card player, his poker face was piss poor when it came to covering his killer actions and although Aurora held the less than better sight line up for the shot, it was now or never in her mind. Slipping her thin fingers into the weapons pouch, she ran her digits around the grip of the gun. With a firm hold, she pulled the death tool into the light. With so many people eyeballing the singer, no one would even see her actions but she had to be faster than her opponent.

Throwing it all to fate…. she brought the barrel up into alignment and sighted her mark from behind the firearm. Holding her breath, she held her view on Bear and with a slight tug of the trigger she waited for the weapons recoil….but it never did. Within that instant of her action and before the completion of her weapons discharge, she watched as the annoying teen pop stars head snap back in a plume of crimson spray. It took her mind a full moment to process what she just saw at the end of her guns sight as the rooms cheers turned from chants of the singers name to screams of terror as the pop star fell out of their sight and seemed to be eaten away by the mass amount of people packed into the lobby.

"What the fuck!" Aurora cursed out loud only to be stifled by the screaming crowd as they watched their radio hero die before their eyes. Presuming the head shot came from Vegas, Aurora draw all her attention upon him who to her amazement looked just as surprised as she.

"You?" she mouthed across the room as Jimmy's response was no more than a no in the form of a head shake. Her eyes now searched for Crow, who stood within the same place as he was before looking as dumb founded as she and Jimmy. Clearly he was not the shooter and among the madness, Aurora scanned the room for who in-fact committed the act. As hotel security entered the lobby, Jimmy tried to sneak his way out undetected for he knew that after Aurora's little murderous diversion outside his room, he would be number one suspect for the singer's assassination.
