The morning light had moved on and no longer shined into Aurora's bedroom windows as the two women lay side by side. Kimba was resting her head on Aurora's right shoulder and slightly turned into her as Aurora gently ran her hand over her girlfriend's back in sweet little circles. "Tell me something." Kimba asked looking up into Aurora's eyes. "Why did you leave The CIA?" she added.
"You know I don't like to talk about that," Aurora said looking away from her friend.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to pry," said the 36 year old as she nuzzled into Aurora's arms trying to get as close to her as she possibly could. "It's just you seemed a little happier back then….that's all. You don't seem to be all that happy working at Starbucks making coffee; Even though you manage a store now," Kimba added turning to look into her partner's eyes, "I just want to see you happy."
"I am happy, besides that was a life time ago as far as I'm concerned. I moved on," Aurora whispered as she held her girl close. "Besides, the CIA took me away from you too much. I like being here with you, not running all over the world playing with spies."
"I wish we could lay here like this forever," Kimba said with a smile looking deeply into Aurora's eyes.
"Yeah if only," replied Aurora whose eyes gazed over to her computer on the desk.
"What is it?"
"Nothing, It's just incoming mail."
"So?"
"Oh, it's nothing."
"Work related?"
"Maybe, how else am I going to buy you pretty things?"
"I don't need pretty things; I need a shower though….want to join me?" Kimba asked with a dirty little grin, the kind she knows always gets her lover to do anything she wants.
"Something tells me that we wouldn't get very clean."
"True but think of what fun it would be," Kimba replied displaying her cute facial dimples.
"Thanks, you go first. I just need to check my email," Aurora told her getting up and moving over to her desk.
"Is something wrong?"
"Oh no babe, I love you. I just have to see about work."
"Baby, you think of work way too much," Kimba said getting off the bed and walking toward the adjoining bathroom.
"It pays the bills, speaking of…when are you going to let me buy you a new car," Aurora asked looking back at her girlfriend.
"What replace my little Blue VW Bug….Never!"
"Girl that thing is older than we are…it's what, a 1975?
"Yeah what's your point…..I love my little Bug," Kimba replied as she entered the bathroom. "Last chance to join me……I may have to play with your back brush!" she added as she stepped into the little room and reached into the stall of the shower to turn on the water. Taking her seat at the computer, Aurora keyed up her work screen name (Dark Specter) and peered at the newest inbox mail. There among useless ads for things nobody wanted was one interesting name and subject that grabbed Aurora's eye. It read in the Subject Line (Kill Fest) The Sender (Fat Daddy).
