Kill Fest
Page 127"What!" said Aurora who wanted nothing more than to pull her pistol and empty the entire magazine content into his brain.
"Oh my God, I should have seen it before." Stryker said lowering his head a little.
"What, saw what Stryker?" she asked turning his way.
"His remarks at the beginning of the subway battle, when he had us turn on each other."
"Yeah so?"
"I should have known that this was really nothing more than a game to him."
"How so?"
"When he said that there can be only one."
"Yeah and so?"
"That line," Stryker started to say as he turned and gazed Pete's way who knew just where Stryker was going with his speech. "That line, it's from the Highlander movie. 'There can be only one.'"
"Don't forget the TV series too!" Pate bust out.
"That's right," Stryker said.
"One what, nerd boy?" Aurora asked turning all her attention on the computer hacker.
"Only one left standing alone as victor," the young man said taking the words out of Stryker's mouth.
"What….sorry I don't speak geek…..what?" Aurora said looking more pissed off than ever.
"That this is nothing more than a live action role game and we are the pawns, unwilling players to an underground viewership," Stryker said looking Aurora's way.
"Sorry man but you're in nothing more than a computer game player's wet dream," the young man said forcing a sorry tone into his voice.
"Don't you get it Constantine; we are nothing but players in a game for his and their amusement. We are being played…..literally by this son of a bitch called Fat Daddy."
"Yeah but what about the money for the winner?' she asked callously.
"You stupid bitch, its nothing but a game, don't you see that?"
"Don't call me bitch…..and if it is still just a game, than there must be a winner and a prize."
"That's what The Reaper is for; to make sure no one can collect on the winner's pot." Pete said.
"Oh my God, I killed that singer for nothing," he said, "I did that for you Aurora and it was all for nothing. I have to find this mother fucker and soon."
"Alright geek, how do we find this Fat Daddy," Aurora questioned the hacker as she held her hand on the grip of her weapon as it stuck halfway of its holster in full view
"I don't know, no one knows who this guy is. He's only known by his tag line, his screen name of Fat Daddy. For all I know, he's nothing more than some bored rich boy with nothing better to do with himself than to mess with other people's lives."
