Kill Fest

Page 11

With her sport bike's RPM's nearing the red zone, the young assassin made her way to the only place she felt truly safe, her home in South Miami Beach. Parking the Ninja Aurora, she entered her apartment and lay down upon her couch trying to shut off the events of the last two days. She had murdered for money two men in less than 12 hours and although her profession gives the young woman unexpected joy, it had taken a bit of a toll on her and needed to get some real rest.

The hot Floridian sun was beaming through the glass door of her two story terrace but she was too tired to close the shutters. Plopping herself upon the white leather sofa, she had just closed her eyes when she heard something in the bedroom. Reaching for her gun, she dragged herself back up and gazed down the long hallway toward her bedroom. Slowly she walked making her way past the large fish tank that held her pet three foot long ball python Slinky. Pushing the bedroom door ever so slightly open, she peeked into the room. As her eyes scanned the dimly lit room they fixed upon the figure of a woman lying upon the bed.

"I didn't know you would be here?" Aurora asked.

"Oh hi, I was waiting for you, I must have fallen asleep," the attractive woman said swiping strands of red hair away from her face revealing her bright green eyes and little freckles adorning her cheeks.

"That's ok, I'm glad you're here," Aurora replied sitting down on the end of the bed trying to kick off her boots without unlacing them.

"You look like hell…..are you ok Aurora?" she asked as hints of her heritage slipped out in her American Irish broken brogue.

"I'm fine."

"Sorry to just show up like this but I got out of work early last night and thought I'll surprise you. Where were you all night anyway?" the girl added crawling her way toward Aurora across the bed.

"I worked late and then spent the night at my sisters."

"Drank too much again?"

"Yeah…..maybe."

"You should have come to my bar last night, at least I could have drove you home," the pretty redhead said as she lay behind Aurora, who was able to yank off the last boot before turning to the woman behind her.

"I didn't want to bother you at work," Aurora said with a little grin. Placing her right hand upon the brunettes back the woman looked up into Aurora's green eyes.

"You could never bother me, you know that," she said as she watched Aurora stand with her back to her and unfasten her belt and unzip her jeans. Aurora then gazed over her left shoulder at the red haired lovely lying in her bed below her.
