Kill Fest
Page 100Stryker too exhausted his last cartridge to no avail and knew the shotgun wielding killer still had ammo within his grasp. He could see from his post that Aurora was yet not clear from the hulking Russian and without cover or suppressing fire, he could do nothing to stop him from killing his former lover. Placing herself behind a pillar gave little shelter as the brute made his way in her direction as she heard each and every step coming her way. Stryker contemplated thinking his only course of action was to try and rush the bigger man and try to take him out by hand. But before he could take action, the blaring reverberation of immeasurable firepower blew the sound barrier wide open.
Holding her ears and sneaking a peek from behind her less then effective defensive position, Aurora saw Ivan taking considerable amounts of bullet strikes from something far more dominating than anything she, her partner or any of the competitors have wielded thus far. Despite the Russian body armor of cobalt wrapped in Kevlar with a thickness greater than the human hand, the bombardment of hot projectiles tore through the armored garment like butter. Aurora could see Ivan's coat and protective vest slice open with each strike as blood spurt from gashes in the fabric. She watched in disbelief the hulking man squirm in impending death as his body trembled out of control as he absorbed infinite hits and a hollowed gasp escape his quivering lips. His vest of steel fibers torn to shreds like tissue paper as the giant's eyes roll deep into the back of his head as the last of the bullet percussions took the living skyscraper down.
"Jesus Christ!" a stunned Aurora cried out as she sort out the origin of such an attack. She knew it didn't come from Stryker or any of the police force currently roaming the complex. The power she witnessed and its effects were far beyond anything any of her competitors brandished. "Who the hell had such a weapon?" she thought as she peered out from her hiding place. She could see Ivan where he fell, now motionless and laying within a pool of his own blood. But no sign of his killer, peeking the other way she caught sight of Stryker who seemed just as dumbfound as she. Regaining her footing, Aurora started to work her way over to Stryker but before they could make contact another figure came into view.
