Flight of the Monarch

Maddie gave a faint smile and sat down on the edge of the bed.

She took Hayley's hand in hers.

"What will we do now?" Hayley smirked.

Maddie gave her a look of surprise.

"Do we continue to let people think we are not related?"

"Nothing has to change."

"Why did you lie to your parents?"

"There is so much you do not know."

"Please, stop keeping the truth from me."

"I want you to get dressed and come downstairs. We will have breakfast and afterwards Austin will be here and the four of us can talk about it."

"What does Austin have to do with this?"

"Everything, if you still love him."

"Okay, but I want you to tell me everything and stop keeping secrets."

"I promise." Maddie raised her palm as she spoke.
