Sneaking out of the house, her heart hammered in her chest with each step. “Don’t get caught,” she whispered to herself while making her way to the lecture hall by weaving in and out of bushy shrubs. Ducking and diving as a few guards doing their rounds, headed her way.
Every time holding her breath. In the back of her mind, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE’S theme song played. So this is what a spy must feel like, she thought as she continued cautiously.
Ten minutes later, she stood in front of double wooden doors. Her stomach knotting and her heart thrumming in her ears. Rubbing her damp hands against the cotton fabric of her bodice. You can do this, she encouraged herself as she placed both hands firmly on the handles.
Taking a deep breath, she turned the cold metal. He must pay! Pushing harder than she meant. Bang! It hit the sides of the inside wall. OOPS! The guards jumped to their feet ready for action. Creepy.Squinting, dim light filled the huge amphitheatre-like-room.
You can do this. Squaring her shoulders, she took a deep breath. Then started down the aisle. Click-cluck-click-cluck, her heels met the stone tiles. Why is it so quiet? She wondered as the sound magnified by the ominous silence settled around her like a cloak.
