Dantalion of the Goetia: The Summoning

"Are they coming here? The demons?" Lucia gasped.

"Yes… it must be part of the trials. If your mortal realm becomes poisoned… falling victim to the new Brotherhood… the Four Kings of Hell will inherit both heaven and hell," Druitte replied.

"If they take control, the demons of the Goetia will lose their chance at redemption forever. Belial, Satan, Lucifer and Leviathan will never allow them to walk as men. They will keep them enslaved, to do their bidding. Their powers will be used against them and against mankind," Sitri added.

Beyond the snow covered pines, the next twenty four hours would decide the destiny of the heavens. The angels watched from above, carving out a place over the fourth part of the mortal earth, where the hosts of heaven can never tread, that is not of their heaven nor of their hell.

Dantalion, Rowan, Gwynnedd, the Angel of Death, and a sea of demons washed over the Courtyard. None of us ever thought we would be here, together, playing a crucial role in the survival of my mortal realm. Without their intervention, the angels of the third heaven would witness Judgment of mankind and quite possibly, the dissolution of both heaven and hell.

The affects of the elixir Dantalion and I had taken enhanced our powers, controlling mine in a way I had never imagined. My emotions and the brands seething evil into my blood had subsided, though I was still reminded what I was… full fledged demon. I was able to tolerate the close proximity of my demon allies, and together, Dantalion and I could call down the angelic hierarchy to help with the Summoning. They told him they could not intervene with Guardian and man, but our powers over them would be needed, whether they liked it or not.

Even before we administered the elixir, Dantalion saw it in Samael's eyes…the harbinger of death had already marked the condemned. He could not show us mercy, and we didn't want him to. Rowan told me Dantalion wanted freedom from his curse, the curse he was born unto as coveted angel and as 'Incubus' demon. He told me himself we needed to face our demons… he could save us both…together we could end it. Side effects began kicking in from the elixir, perpetual life mixed with poison, a deadly blend.

Dantalion's transition from demon to angel had played on his condition, his usual beautiful becoming worn, his dark spiked hair now showing his age. His killer smile was absent but the darkness of his eyes immersed me in that warm angelic glow that always reminded me of heaven.
