Dantalion of the Goetia: Taste the Obsession of a Demon
Page 58"She will be sealed within as long as I remain the guardian. I will make certain of it," he promised.
I remembered that part of his punishment, during the waning moon. He would not visit with me then, and when he did visit me as 'Incubus' he hid his true demon form. But he could never stay. His piercing eyes appeared the same now, only the amber-yellow glow reminded me of what he was. I would only be allowed to love him as he loved me, hidden, within the confines of the shadows, never in a true life.
"I know it is difficult to believe. But when I was exiled, Lilith's mortal soul was taken to the afterlife. You are the embodiment of that soul Laurel".
"Oh yea, I remember. She transcended time to be with you," I repeated the words somewhat annoyed.
Dantalion leaned in to kiss me. "It was good thing. She brought me to you."
He still didn't know of Satan's deception, how he conjured up Lilith to lure him to his fall from grace. One thing I knew was Dantalion never seemed out of his element, whether he was visiting me in my dreams, or standing right beside me, full fledged demon. He had a grace about him, always in control of his demonic tendencies.
"I want to know more about you," he asked. I didn't like talking about my memories. They were dusty miles of places I could never touch again.
"I remember only desert sand until I was brought to the ocean," I replied, trying to evade the subject.
Dantalion seemed intrigued. "Do not doubt the strength of your spirit. You will discover you have a gift."
I had heard this before, and now I was beginning to believe it.
"You need to rest. My armies are waiting."
He left me there, exhausted, and finally, I found sleep. Dantalion strode down the dark hallway, proud of his conquest with Gwynnedd and the release of his thirty six legions, and mostly, because I was safe with him.
He addressed the armies: "I am Duke Dantalion, the seventy first demon of the Goetia. You know me well. It is known, all demons of the Goetia pay allegiance to Satan, but I do not. It was I who hath summoned thee, therefore, each of thee pays allegiance to me."
The thirty six legions were part demon, part human. Some had red eyes, blazing with war. Others, dark eyes, like Rowan's, bearing razor sharp claws.
One of Dantalion's demons, Count Druitte, a young war hero, led his armies to many victories before his demise by his brother Count Halphas, who was one of the seventy two condemned demons of the Goetia.
