Dantalion of the Goetia: Taste the Obsession of a Demon

Page 50

Glowing red eyes like Satan's glared at me in the darkness, the shape of a woman serpent moved in my direction. She took one arm and extended it under my throat , her dagger claws clamping tighter around my neck and pinning me up against the wall, cutting into my flesh.

She hissed, "I am Gwynnedd. I bear the seal of the undead. He who bears the name of Dantalion, hath endured my torture throughout the waning moon. He hath revealed under such torture the name of a mortal girl , she who bears the name of Laurel. I know tis thee." She tightened her claws deeper into my throat.

"You foolish girl. You hath not evoked who you seek! You inscribed my demonic seal and not that of Dantalion's. See the mark that I bear? It is of the 'Succubus' and not of the 'Incubus'."

I saw the seal on her arm was somewhat similar to mine and Dantalion's.

"I will take thee life from thy body and thou shall be cursed to eternal damnation if thou does not heed what I have cometh to say. Thy words thou spoke back in the Courtyard did not release Dantalion from his demon curse. He shall riseth once again, his wings returned and his demon form diminished," she coiled her serpent tail behind her body.

I was terrified to utter a single word.

"What say you?" she hissed.

"I am the mortal girl named Laurel. And you're right, I couldn't release Dantalion from his curse" I barely got the words out.

"No, you stupid girl!" she drew blood from my throat. "I am the keeper of secrets. Only I knoweth that to lift the curse a child of demon bloodline must be conceived. Thou cannot for thee are merely a mortal. He would never take your life as he hath revealed under torture he loves thee. But you will release him." Her venomous barbed tail uncoiled behind her and over toward my face.

Frozen, my thoughts raced back and forth trying to decipher what in hell she was talking about. She said I was merely a mortal, but Lilith herself told me my blood pulsed immortal. She didn't know. Dantalion told her he loved me. That's why he left, to protect me. I wondered who would protect me from myself. I kept getting deeper and deeper into Dantalion's world, and now he wasn't here.

"I shall watch thee die whilst the venom runs through thy body!"

I screamed in terror.

"Dost thou even knowest why the 'Incubus' demon named Dantalion cometh to love thee? By deception. Not by thy own deception but by the temptation of our Demonic Lord, the master of infernal hierarchy Lord Satan himself. Condemned to purgatory by God, our Demonic Lord devised temptation for Dantalion. He hath conjured up the temptress Lilith to lure Dantalion to his fall from grace. Dantalion knoweth not of this deception, even now. He believeth in his love for the girl, who transcended time and now inhabits your mortal flesh. You are thy embodiment of Lilith now, and Dantalion's allegiance toward you is but a deception. He hath only the desire for redemption. He will not careth about thy mortal soul. "What say you?" she came closer.
