Getting comfortable in her swing she laid her glass on the table beside her and dialed a number on her phone, With call waiting she didn’t worry about missing Daves call. She called up her best friend to whom she has not spoken to in a long while. She was hoping this was still her number.

“Long time no hear.” Her friend Renee said. “How have you been?”

“I have been great; my new home is great and my new job. I love this town.” Sandra told Renee.

“Glad to hear that.” Renee said.

“How have you been, Renee?” Sandra asked.

“I have been great. Gosh, how long since we talked? We have a lot to talk about.” Renee said.

“Yes , we have. It’s been, what, 9 years?” Sandra said. “I was surprised you still have the same phone number.”

“I took it with me when I moved. I hate having to call everyone to tell them my new number. I did try to contact you but couldn’t find you. Is your number unlisted?”

“Yes, sorry it is. I have been moving around so much and been so busy that I haven’t had time to call anyone or even think about calling anyone. I did try to call you one time but someone answered the phone and said it was the wrong number so I gave up.”
