I slid into the car and buckle up. After about five-teen minutes of driving, my phone starts ringing off the hook. I don’t bother to pick it up but I do look at the caller identification.
It isn’t anyone that I know. So I don’t answer it. It keeps ringing. I pick it up being it is the same person. So finally I give in and answer it.
“Hello?” I ask. “Hi, is this Alivia?” The husky voice asks. “Yes. Who is this?” I ask. “Hey, you sat by me this morning on the bus.” He says. “Ok, I meant what I said. If you like it take a picture.” I tell him. I say all before I can even stop myself. God, what is wrong with me?
“My name is Dwayne Matthews. And I was wondering if you would like to go to the dance with me?” He asks. “Dwayne, can I call you back in about an hour and a half? I promise you, that I am not dodging your question, I am driving, and I need to pay attention.” I ask.
